Every Friday this summer I’m doing a case study on the last ten years draft history of every conference in the FBS.

Through these case studies we’ll be able to answer which schools and conferences produce the most talent, the most busts, the most players at each position and much more.

I know that it’s a lot of information to digest, but there’s some very interesting findings during this first week of research which will become even more telling as each week progresses.

This week, I’m taking on Conference USA. You can also read about the Big Ten, ACC and MAC.

Chandler Jones NFL Draft

Will Chandler Jones even be on the board when the Patriots pick?

NEPD Editor: James Christensen

After fourteen long months scouting 2012 NFL Draft prospects, I’m narrowing the 300 or so draftable prospects down to just six guys that I think the Patriots will take a hard look at.

Is Vinny Curry on the Patriots Radar?

NEPD Editor: Mike Loyko

The Draft will finally get underway in 48 hours. The Patriots have been painfully tough to project in the past, but I take my best shot and try to predict who will have their name called by the Patriots this week.

2012 NFL Draft: Five “Forgotten” Potential First Rounders

Vinny Curry Patriots NFL Draft

Why is no one talking about this Conference USA pass rusher?

NEPD Editor: Doug Kyed

Every year during draft season there are prospects who get dissected to death and those that fly under the radar. I want to talk about those forgotten prospects today.

Over the last few months we’ve talked enough about Michael Brockers, Ryan Tannehill, Janoris Jenkins and most of the sure thing first round picks. I wanted to talk about some of the guys who have become slightly unheralded over the last couple of months. Guys that draft analysts don’t seem to want to talk about or like talking about.

All of these guys have the potential to go in the first round, and they’re all potential fits for the Patriots.

With the Senior Bowl week coming to a close, I wanted to gather my thoughts on the week into one concise post.

Besides watching a ton of great football and meeting equally as great scouts and players, there were a lot of players that really opened my eyes down in Mobile, AL and a few players that made me question what I was seeing on tape throughout the year.

I’m going to give you my top players at each position who helped their stock, and one or two that might have fallen a little bit.

2012 Senior Bowl

Senior Bowl Headquarters

Mike Loyko was fortunate to get to talk to a bunch of the Senior Bowl players during Media Night.

Mike stated that George Iloka (S, Boise State) came off as very “football savvy” – listen to them all and tell us what you think.
