Patriots Release Ty Warren

Moves are being made at a harried pace in Foxboro this week.

In a relatively shocking move, although not quite as much after yesterday’s Albert Haynesworth and Chad Ochocinco trades, the Patriots have parted ways with veteran defensive end Ty Warren.

The New England Patriots announced this evening that 8th year defensive end Ty Warren has been placed on injured reserve due to a hip injury suffered in training camp.

Ty Warren and Vince Wilfork look forward to working with newly-signed Gerard Warren.

As I’m sure many of you already know, the Patriots have a penchant for drafting first-round players whose last names start with “W” or “M”. (McCourty, Mayo, Meriweather, Mankins, Maroney, Wilfork, Warren, Watson…)  Two of those players, Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren have made up two-thirds of the starting defensive line for the past few years.
