The first day of the NFL playoffs will take center stage on Saturday, but before the professionals take the stage, there is one early-afternoon bowl game: the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham, Ala., which will be televised at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN, and features the Pittsburgh Panthers versus the Mississippi Rebels.

There aren’t too many potential New England Patriots in this game, but if the desire for a full Saturday of football leads you to tune into this contest, there are a few players you should keep an eye on.

Ray Graham is the top senior prospect in the Big East Conference.

No conference will look more different than the Big East over the course of the next three years due to realignment throughout Division One college football. 2012 will be a bridge year of sorts with West Virginia leaving, Temple joining and Boise State among other teams joining in 2013.

The Big East produced a number of very good NFL Draft prospects last year including Patriots 1st round pick Chandler Jones of Syracuse. How will realignment and graduation effect the conference’s draftable prospects?
