Patriots Trade Randy Moss to Minnesota

In a somewhat shocking bye-week move, the Patriots have chosen to close the book on the Randy Moss era in New England. In return for shipping Moss’ talents to Minneapolis, the Patriots will receive a 3rd Round draft pick in 2011. Here is a full list of the Patriots Draft Picks in 2011.


Tom Brady Signs 4-Year Deal

According to’s Peter King, Tom Brady is going to be a Patriot for the foreseeable future. Brady will officially sign a 4-year deal that averages close to $19 million per year, making him the highest paid player in the NFL.

Brady will remain under contract until 2014, as the 4-year deal is tacked on his current deal which runs through 2010.


Patriots Madden Ratings Observations

A few quick hits on some of the interesting or odd things in the individual rankings for Madden ’11. You can see the full list here.


The new rating this year has to do with celebrating after or before a TD.  Tom Brady clocks in with the Patriots highest rating at 96.  Randy Moss also sports a 95.  The oversight here is Zoltan Mesko – given a 75 rating… He deserves at least a 106.

It’s now June in 2010 – after three seasons, many feel that one can accurately assess the success of a particular NFL Draft class. When a certain group of fans and media pundits look back at the 2007 NFL Draft for the New England Patriots, many see one of the worst drafts in history.  We are not members of that group.  Here are some notes on how each of the picks ended up.

Taylor Price’s long wait to join the Patriots is finally over.  After the Ohio Bobcats (finally) hold their 2010 commencement ceremonies today, the Patriot’s 3rd-round pick can officially suit up for organized team activities (OTA’s). Due to an NFL rule, rookies aren’t allowed to attend OTA’s until their college has held graduation.
