Patriots Free Agency: Weekend Recap

The big news today is that UFA cornerback Leigh Bodden is visiting the Houston Texans, a team thought to be out of the running for his services. Bodden is reportedly seeking $4-5 million or more per year, a figure that might price him out of New England. Bodden himself stated, when asked if he has scheduled other visits, “I do, but hopefully I don’t need it.” Bodden might be in a different red, white, and blue uniform next year.

Meanwhile, after acquiring former Patriot WR David Patten, the Patriots continue to kick the tires on Tier 2 free-agent receivers. Josh Reed is scheduled for a visit to Foxboro on Monday, while Derrick Mason and Antonio Bryant are both reportedly on the Patriots radar.

Kevin Faulk still hasn’t signed with a team, although we would be shocked to see the Patriots choose not to re-sign him.
