NFL Draft Homework: Music City Bowl

Kentucky vs Clemson, December 27th, 8:30pm, ESPN

Top NFL Draft Prospects for the Music City Bowl-

1. Ricky Sapp, Senior DE/OLB, Clemson (Pictured)
Sapp will probably be overdrafted this spring, as his high-flying pass-rush talent masks some deficiencies. Sapp will not be able to set the edge playing in a 3-4 system due to his size/strength, so he may a situational player – not what you want out of a 1st-Rounder.

2. CJ Spiller, Senior RB, Clemson
Spiller is a 1st-Round guy that reminds you of Sproles and Hester in their heydays. He will instantly contribute in two phases of the game as a kick/punt returner and at least a 3rd-down back. Blazing speed and great vision are what makes CJ so great.

3. Trevard Lindley, Senior CB, Kentucky
Lindley had some ankle problems this year, but seems to be fine now – affording us a chance to see his great recovery time covering receivers. Lindley still needs to get stronger so he won’t be overmatched at the line of scrimmage against the NFL’s physical pass-catchers. Should be a 2nd/3rd round prospect.

4. Jacoby Ford, Senior WR, Clemson
Ford is a 60 meter track guy that can really stretch the field. He hasn’t played with the most competent of QB’s while at Clemson, which could cost him on draft day. Look for someone to take a flier on this flier in the 4th or 5th round.
