Patriots Release John Lynch

Patriots Cut Lynch
The purge continues in New England as John Lynch is the latest Patriots to get the axe. Mike Reiss is reporting that Lynch might rejoin the Patriots at a later date.
Belichick stated that his mind was open to a Lynch return. Lynch had this to say:

“The immense respect that I’ve long held for the organization has been only heightened over the past couple of weeks. I am going to keep all options open and look forward with excitement to see what the future brings.”

Patriots Plan?
Me thinks the Patriots have something up their sleeve… Ty Law, Lito Sheppard, and others are all on my radar right now. Due to a draft-day trade in 2008, the Patriots hold the Chargers 2nd rounder, which may be enough to swing a trade for Sheppard. Whether or not the Patriots could sign Sheppard to a deal is another matter.

I thought signing Lynch was an interesting thing for the Patriots to do. Now, they cut him, right before the season starts.Has the 37 year-old Lynch lost a step? Is his neck still bothering him?He seems to love the Patriot Way, so yes, maybe they will resign him. The guy has a lot of NFL experience.
