This year’s Rose Bowl provided something for everyone: frequent scoring in the first half, a defensive struggle in the second half. Ultimately, Stanford emerged victorious, concluding the season at 12-2 via a 20-14 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers, who finished the season with an 8-5 record. The game was a mixed bag in regards to its top potential NFL Draft prospects; read on for more information regarding how the likes of Stepfan Taylor, Zach Ertz, Chase Thomas, Shayne Skov, Montee Ball, Ricky Wagner, and Travis Frederick performed last night.

This year’s Rose Bowl between the Stanford Cardinal and the Wisconsin Badgers presents some interesting matchups involving NFL Draft prospects, most notably when Wisconsin has possession of the football. The Badgers will attempt to establish the ground game early, with running back Montee Ball operating behind offensive linemen Ricky Wagner and Travis Frederick. Stanford’s linebackers, Chase Thomas and Shayne Skov, also project as first or second-day picks.
Additionally, the Cardinal have some offensive talent of their own, most notably tight end Zach Ertz, a first or second-round pick, and running back Stepfan Taylor, a likely mid-round selection who may be able to sneak into the second day. Read on for more information regarding the Rose Bowl’s top prospects.

1. Kansas City Chiefs
Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia (SCOUTING REPORT)
The Chiefs need a new quarterback to start off their new era. While the current Chiefs staff is rumored to like Tyler Wilson, Geno Smith is our #1 prospect.
If the Chiefs want to target QB in the later part of round one via trade or on day two (Matt Barkley, Ryan Nassib, Mike Glennon, Zac Dysert), then left tackle Luke Joeckel from Texas A&M or a defensive player could be the pick.

With Ohio State and Penn State out of the picture due to NCAA sanctions, this game featured a Wisconsin team fighting for another Rose Bowl and a Nebraska team looking to make its first big mark on the Big Ten.
Unfortunately, this game turned into a laugher early as Wisconsin put on its best impression of the Oregon Ducks.
