Patriots Training Camp: Initial Reactions

The Patriots have now completed three days of training camp, spending half of Saturday in shorts and t-shirts after four full-pad practices on Thursday and Friday. While it is still very early in the development and evaluation process, a few themes have developed.

Can Torry Holt turn expectations on their head and win a starting job for the Patriots?

Ah, training camp.  We only had to wait 200 days for your return.

Perhaps the most intriguing portion of training camp each year is the annual gladiatorial battle for a couple of starting spots and a few backups. Young guys trying to make their name, veterans trying to hold on for one more year.  This year will be no different, as there will be four highly intriguing positional battles to watch.

Tom Brady Reports to Training Camp

According to Adam Caplan of FOXSPORTS.com, Tom Brady reported to Patriots training camp today.  Multiple ESPN sources, including Chris Mortensen and John Clayton, called into question whether the three-time Superbowl champion would report to camp on time. Seemingly, this would end months of angst and speculation over whether Brady’s perceived vexation over a long and arduous time dealing with the last year of his contract.
