The Patriots have selected Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett with the 74th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Mallett has undeniable talent, but fell down draft boards due to some character issues. Mallett has perhaps the best arm in the entire draft.

After the deluge turned into a trickle on the Patriots Draft Contacts front, there has finally been some new action worth reporting. According to ESPN.com, Ryan Mallett is visiting the Patriots for two days – this after hosting Jake Locker last week.

Strengths:
Elite arm strength – Good release – Great size and bulk – Very confident – Has good touch on the deep ball – Able to get to his 2nd and 3rd reads – Tons of upside.
Weaknesses:
Not very mobile – Footwork needs a lot of work – Tries to force the ball at times – Can improve his decision making – Does not throw well outside the pocket – Only average accuracy.
