Patriots Host Matt Roth and Raheem Brock
Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011
In the bargain hunting phase of this free-agency period, brought on by the NFLPA’s insistence on flooding the market 4th and 5th year veterans, the Patriots have found two more possible targets.
Tommie Harris and the Patriots couldn’t make a deal, so he ended up signing with the rival Colts. Therefore, Matt Roth (DE/OLB, Cleveland) and Raheem Brock (DL, Seattle) are the two newest names to be added to the Patriots free agency watch.

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

Tom Brady to Holdout?

Due to his current contract status, Tom Bradywill not be a happy training-camper this Sunday. However, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Brady might not be a training-camper at all, stating that “Tom Brady has 3 Super Bowl rings; Patriots were near bottom in payroll last year; the ‘take 1 for the team’ isn’t flying well anymore.”

Patriots Interested in Osi Umenyiora?
Sunday, April 18th, 2010
It’s no secret that Osi Umenyiora and the New York Giants seem to be looking to end their relationship. Several teams have expressed interest in acquiring the defensive end who has averaged 10 sacks per season over the last four years, including seven sacks in 2009. We’ve heard (still unconfirmed) reports that the Patriots are one of the teams that are intrigued by Osi, presumably wanting to convert him to a 3-4 outside linebacker.
Michael Lombardi states, “I hear if the deal is right, they’ll make a deal. Umenyiora can be had for the right price.” Presumably, a 3rd or 4th round pick would seal the deal. If the Patriots can’t land one of the top OLB’s in the draft, such as Sergio Kindle or Brandon Graham, Umenyiora would be very attractive for a mid-round selection.
Jason Taylor remains another veteran option at OLB that the Patriots could explore, provided that the Jets don’t get to him first.
