In the Film Room: Iowa vs Penn State
Tuesday, October 11th, 2011
Much is often made of the connection between Iowa’s coach Kirk Ferentz and Bill Belichick, who coached together during Belichick’s time in Cleveland.
However, with the exception of a couple of undrafted free-agents and a 7th-round pick (OL, Mike Elgin), the connection has never produced a big splash on the Patriots roster, even though only USC and Florida have put more players in the NFL over the last few years.
This could be the year that the connection finally bears some fruit.
NEPD Prospect Preview: Week 6
Thursday, October 6th, 2011

Safety Kenny Vaccaro is just one of the Texas NFL Draft prospects that I'm excited to be scouting this weekend.
I’ll be taking a look at some more great teams with some top-notch 2012 NFL Draft prospects this weekend.
Iowa vs Penn State and Oklahoma vs Texas are both matchups with some great defenders and some explosive pass-catchers. Make sure you check out the film room early next week to see the results of our scouting.
Film Room Live: Iowa vs Iowa State
Saturday, September 10th, 2011
As we previewed earlier this week, the Iowa State vs Iowa game features a large amount of legitimate 2012 NFL Draft prospects. We ran the multitude of Hawkeye draft prospects through the film room process last week, but seeing them against some BCS level talent will be invaluable in evaluating them.
On the other hand, Iowa State makes up for a lack of quantity with the quality of their prospects. Mammoth (6-6/340) offensive lineman Kelechi Osomele may end up being a Top 20 NFL Draft prospect in 2012.
We’ll be updating the post throughout the game and after, as we go back and fill in some of the stuff we missed live.
In the Film Room: Iowa vs Tennessee Tech
Monday, September 5th, 2011
The Iowa vs Tennessee Tech game was a tough one to scout – with a large talent disparity between the two teams and some crazy weather. We’ll need to take another look or two at Iowa down the road.
Tennessee Tech, however, didn’t show us much other than a great special teams player.
