2012 NFL Draft Interview: Trenton Robinson (FS, MSU)

Friday, March 16th, 2012

NEPD Editor: Mike Loyko

Michigan State Safety Trenton Robinson talks with NEPD’s Mike Loyko right after his pro day. Robinson is one of the most complete safeties in this draft and someone who should be on the Patriots radar.

Among the topics discussed were Robinson’s ability to be a leader on and off the field. His pro day performance, which by all accounts went very well. His versatility as a defensive back and his ability to play safety and corner back. Robinson’s stock has been rising since the Senior Bowl where he showed that he can make an impact in all facets of the game. I want to thank Trenton for taking the time to talk to NEPD during such a busy and important day in his life.

Here is the complete interview:

NEPD Editor: Doug Kyed

Vanderbilt CB Casey Hayward was kind enough to stop and chat with me with recently.

Hayward was a natural ball hawk, intercepting 15 passes while at Vanderbilt. Hayward has fluid hips and impressive technique, and shows nice instincts on the field. He flashed some unexpected sub 4.5 hand timed 40 times at the combine, while also recording an extremely impressive 6.76 3 cone time.

Interview after the jump.

Kyle Martens isn’t your typical punter. Kyle is a tremendous athlete who grew up in the small town of Spearfish South Dakota, which isn’t exactly a hot bed of football talent. Martens was asked to play multiple positions on his high school team, but it was as a punter that he caught the eye of college recruiters. Kyle is a tireless worker who has improved on his technique and punting stats each season.

NEPD Editor: Mike Loyko

During NFL Draft season a lot gets made of a player’s measurables; their height, their weight and their speed. One thing that tends to get lost in the shuffle and overlooked, but is more meaningful than all those measurables is production.

For Western Michigan WR Jordan White all he did was produce throughout his career. His numbers this year look like something out of a video game; 140 receptions-1911 yards-17 touchdowns.

Those numbers are tough to comprehend, especially considering he put them up in only 13 games. It’s even more impressive when you consider the fact that everyone on the defense knew where the ball was going and they still couldn’t stop White.
