After a somewhat sluggish first half offensively and defensively against the Bills on Sunday, the Patriots rallied back in the second half against the Bills, blowing them out 52-28. In the process, the Patriots became the second team in NFL history to have a pair of 100 yard rushers (Bolden, Ridley) and 100 yard receivers (Gronkowski, Welker).

Coach Bill Belichick also moved passed Chuck Knox for sole possession for 8th place on the all time win list. There were a lot of positives to take from Sunday’s thrashing of the Bills.

Lets put this out there right away. The Patriots played terrible and that is the main reason they lost. It’s not the replacement referees, it’s not the clutch last drive by Joe Flacco, it was the Patriots playing absolutely terrible in the fourth quarter.

With that, here are my three keys to the Patriots’s defeat.

The Patriots lost three games against the New York Giants last year, none of them more disappointing than the Superbowl loss. There was no revenge tonight, as the Patriots lost 6-3 in a game marred by poor line play and questionable refereeing.

Here are our notes on how the Patriots played.

Patriots vs Ravens: The Game that Killed Twitter

Wow, talk about one of the all time greats. The Patriots are going to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis.

The Pats might not have played their best game, but in the end, they got it done in the style they have all year: bend, but don’t break.

The team that never seems to be able to block kicks, and never seems to get the benefit of missed kicks finally did it.

Here are some very quick hit thoughts on the game:
