Who wins the position battle between Deion Branch and Donte Stallworth? When are the NFL refs coming back? More importantly, when is Brian Waters coming back?!

Those are some of the questions I’ll be answering in my weekly “Too Long For Twitter” Friday mailbag where I take questions from Twitter that warrant, deserve or need answers longer than 140 characters

If you have a question about anything, tweet it to me @DougKyedNEPD, and I’ll try to include it in the column on Friday. If you aren’t on Twitter, feel free to throw in a question in the comments section.

On Saturday and Sunday I was among the 14,000 attendees at Patriots training camp carefully watching all 89 players on the current Patriots roster.

After watching each drill and trying to gauge all of the new talent on the Patriots roster, I thought it was time for my first roster prediction of the 2012 preseason.

If you wanted to look over all of my thoughts this past weekend, feel free to go through my twitter timeline.

Here’s how I think the Patriots roster will shake out for week 1:

Patriots Draft WR

Taylor Price wasn't the answer. Unless the question was "Who is the latest bust at WR for the Patriots?"

NEPD Editor: Mike Loyko

It’s become like a cruel joke around here in New England. Every year or two the Patriots draft a WR and the hopes of Patriots Nation immediately are sky high. Everyone swears that this time this one will turn into a star.

With Tom Brady at QB any receiver brought to New England will be successful, or so it was once thought. While other teams are drafting Greg Jennings, Mike Wallace and other pro bowl receivers we have been stuck with the Taylor Prices and Chad Jackson’s of the world.

Why can other teams seemingly draft such quality WRs and the Patriots strikeout with the position year after year? I went back and looked at each WR the Patriots drafted looking at how they fared in college, how they did at the combine and what may have made the Patriots draft them.

Here is what I found.

The best way to forget the Super Bowl is to look ahead to the future. Here we take a look at the free agents on the Patriots roster: who is likely to be back and who they will probably let walk.

Playoff Aftermath: Patriots vs Broncos

I’ve always had a theory that a win never feels as good as a loss feels bad. This one was different.

With all the build up and all the Tebow-mania, this is one of those incredibly gratifying wins for us Patriots fans.

Here are my quick-hit thoughts on the destruction of Tebow and company:

Ravens vs Patriots

Who is 5 foot 8 inches tall and deadly? This guy.

A 33-13 playoff loss? Nevermore.

The New England Patriots rattled off 13 straight points to knock off the Baltimore Ravens in Foxboro this afternoon. Led by the newly acquired (for the 2nd time) Deion Branch, the offense finally cracked the code of one of the stingiest defenses in the NFL.

Trade Deion Branch

Welcome home Deion.

Deion Branch will be moving his proverbial talents to New England in the coming days, reuniting Branch with his good friend and former QB Tom Brady after the Patriots sent the Seahawks a 2011 4th-round pick. Branch was drafted in the 2nd Round of the 2002 NFL Draft by Bill Belichick.
