I’m not big on giving out grades to rate how a player has performed to this point, especially since the season is only halfway over. But, with the Patriots bye week marking the halfway point of their season it is time to evaluate each player and the impact they’ve had on the team.

With a 5-3 record the Patriots have matched their 2011 mark through 8 games, but is this a more talented team? This is my take on each player on the Patriots roster and their performance during the first half of the 2012 season.

2012 Patriots Roster: Position Battles to Watch

Now that the draft, free agency and the player acquisition period has come to an end, the 2012 New England Patriots Roster is coming into focus. As of right now the Patriots 90 man roster is loaded with talented players from top to bottom.

Training camp this year will be ultra-competitive as 75 or so players who have a legitimate shot at making the roster will fight for 53 spots.

What will the most competitive position battles be and who will win out? I take a look at all the position battles to watch as training camp is quickly approaching.
