2012 NFL Free Agency: Patriots Sign CB Will Allen

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

NEPD Editor: Doug Kyed

In a very Patriots esque maneuver, in the midst of the Saints discipline and Tebow-to-the-Jets, the Patriots signed former Dolphins CB Will Allen according to Bryan McIntyre.

The Patriots love to bring in veteran defensive backs, in the past signing Shawn Springs, Leigh Bodden, Lewis Sanders, Deltha O’Neal, etc.

Allen played in 15 games this season, with six starts and 676 total snaps at slot corner after missing all of 2010 and half of 2009 with a knee injury. Before Allen’s knee injury, Allen was the 10th rated CB on Pro Football Focus in 2008 and 32nd in 2009 despite missing half the season.

Who says you can’t go home again? Well, that’s not the case with Donte Stallworth, as the Patriots agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins WR who was a key cog in the record breaking 2007 Patriots offense.

The Peyton Manning sweepstakes is over – Peyton Manning is going to be a Bronco. Now that is settled, where will Tim Tebow end up?

John Clayton reported on ESPN Radio that there is a rumor that if Manning winds up on the Broncos, the New England Patriots are the favorites to land Tim Tebow in a trade.

Matt Light Patriots

If Matt Light retires, how will the Patriots offensive line stack up next season?

NEPD Editor: Doug Kyed

Where does the Patriots offensive line stand? Which players are good enough for the Patriots to stand pat in the draft for? How will the Patriots address their WR needs?

Those are some of the questions I’ll be answering in my weekly “Too Long For Twitter” Friday mailbag where I take questions from Twitter that warrant, deserve or need answers longer than 140 characters

If you have a question about anything, tweet it to me @DougKyedNEPD, and I’ll try to include it in the column on Friday. If you aren’t on Twitter, feel free to throw in a question in the comments section.

Mike Wallace: Is He Worth The 27th Pick?

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

Could Aaron Hernandez be on the other side of that touchdown celebration next September?

NEPD Editor: Doug Kyed

If you follow me on Twitter, then you should already know my slightly controversial answer.

But 140 characters can be difficult at times to truly convey the reasons for my opinion.
