In probably the most interesting draft selections that the New England Patriots made in the 2012 NFL draft was selecting Tavon Wilson out of Illinois with the 48th overall pick.

For starters, I did not like this selection at all—but Wilson sure impressed me in his rookie season.

With the 25th overall pick in this year’s past draft, the New England Patriots traded up with the Denver Broncos to select linebacker Dont’a Hightower out of Alabama.

My immediate reaction to this selection was that I loved it. I felt that Hightower was the perfect fit for the Patriots.

Throughout the entire scouting season, I was all over Hightower and felt that he’d be a perfect fit for New England. Hightower impressed me in so many ways, not only because of how he flourished with Nick Saban at Alabama, but his versatility and athleticism.

It is rare when a Patriots first round pick might be the third most famous person in his family. In this case, Ravens veteran Arthur Jones and MMA Superstar Jon “Bones” Jones certainly took the spotlight from their “little” brother playing his junior year at Syracuse.

That said, Chandler Jones is set to be a big part of the plans for the New England Patriots in the coming years. And you won’t have to pay $64.95 to watch him.

“The System.”

You often hear about players that potentially fit the Patriots complex defense, well they found a good one when they traded up to take Dont’a Hightower 25th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Hightower has great position versatility, but where exactly will he fit in the Patriots hybrid defense?
