Les Brown: An Unlikely Path to the NFL

Les Brown Highland High School

Les Brown has come a long way from his days as an All-State WR at Highland High School.

NEPD Editor: Doug Kyed

Throughout all of our lives, at some point we ask, “what if?”

What if I had picked a different college? What if I didn’t blow it with that one relationship? What if I hadn’t said that one thing or done that one thing differently?

Most of us never get the opportunity to answer that question.

Les Brown does.

After choosing basketball out of high school, rather than football, Les, 24, now has the chance to rekindle that urge to put the pads back on due to some freak athleticism he showed on March 29th at the BYU Pro Day.

2012 NFL Draft Chris Owusu

Chris Owusu had a great combine, now he's ready to move on to the next level.

NEPD Editor: Doug Kyed

I recently got the chance to talk to a real sleeper in this draft, former Stanford stand out WR Chris Owusu. Chris was a great guy to speak to, and he detailed what this whole NFL Draft process has been like for him.

Chris really tore it up at the combine running an official 4.36 40 (tied for 1st among WRs), with a 40 1/2″ vertical jump (3rd), 10’09” broad jump (2nd), 4.11 short shuttle (6th) and a 6.85 3-cone drill (9th).

We talked about what it was like playing with Andrew Luck, some of the intricacies of the Harbaugh offense, and you may even find out if he would rather play under Jim Harbaugh or with Andrew Luck.

2012 Senior Bowl: Brandon Boykin Interview

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

When people see Devin Hester-esque returns, sometimes they overlook just how good you can be doing your “day-job” – or in the case of Georgia’s cornerback Brandon Boykin, playing cornerback.

Other than perhaps Janoris Jenkins, Boykin might have had the best time for a defensive prospect so far in Mobile.

Boykin speaks with NEPD Writer Doug Kyed about who he models his game after, his versatility on the field, his role on special teams, and predicted 40-yard dash time.

Boykin is currently our #10 CB in a stacked class.

Mike Loyko also had a chance to chat with Boykin after practice.
