The Redskins won by more than the Patriots did and they didn't have to come from behind in the 4th quarter to do it. Not to mention their entire season has been much more impressive than the one the Patriots have been having. I am not going to say that the Patriots aren't a good team, but at this point in the season you would have to be insane to say that the Patriots deserve to be ranked higher than the Redskins. The Redskins were in control of the Rams game with the exception of a few fluke plays.(fumble return for a TD) The Rams outgained the Pats by 10 yards(358-348) while the Redskins outgained the Rams 368-200. The Redskins were also able to hold the Rams without a touchdown, which the Pats failed to do. The Pats had to come back and without an interception by O'neal they might be in the same boat as the Skins. The Pats won with a little good luck and the Skins lost with a little bad luck. The teams the Redskins lost to have a combined win total of 8 while the total is 7 and 6 for the Bills and Patriots respectively. There is a slight difference between a last second loss and losing by 20 or 25 as the Pats did or by 24 like the Bills did. <BR/><BR/>The Redskins didn't look the greatest against the Lions but they did win by 8 while outgaining the Lions 439-274 and holding the ball nearly 11 minutes longer. I wouldn't consider that a poor performance.<BR/><BR/>The facts are that the Redskins have a better record than both of these teams. They have beaten better teams and their loses have not been as bad as the Bills and Pats. They have a better offense and defense than these teams. That deserves a top 5 ranking, especially since they earned those lofty rankings against such powerhouses as the chiefs, jets, dolphins, 49ers, chargers, broncos, and rams.
