Ochocino: The Movie

Friday, June 12th, 2009

As Chad Ochocinco has made it into the news once or twice in the past few years, we feel that it is a relative certainty that one day there will be a movie based on his unique life.

The odds are pretty good that the title of said movie will have the number 85 somewhere in the title. What many people don’t know though, is that when this movie hits the silver screen, a major milestone will have occurred in cinematic history. If you know why, we here at NE Patriots Draft salute you.

You see, numbers in movie titles are pretty common, and every single one of the integers from 1-100 have been used in a cinematic production-that is except one: eighty-five. Some of the works are pretty well-known, like “Twelve Monkeys” and “Apollo 13”, where others are a bit more obscure. “27 Missing Kisses” and “Gypsy 83” aren’t quite in my DVD collection.

So when you are shelling out $15 to see Jamie Foxx play “85”, know that you are seeing the completion of something over 100 years in the making.

Mock Draft: 2008 Election

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

We here at NE Patriots Draft are Patriots of our country first, and we encourage everyone to vote in the election today. Along with most big events, we have to predict what is going to happen–we really can’t help ourselves. Please do not misconstrue our projection as endorsement of either candidate, this is merely our thoughts on how the citizens of each state will vote. Here is a state-by-state look at how we think things will turn out in the 2008 Presidential Election:

Check out more projections at

>Electoral College Prediction Map – Predict the winner of the general election. Use the map to experiment with winning combinations of states. Save your prediction and send it to friends.

We see Obama carrying the majority of the swing states east of the Rockies, and overall an Obama landslide victory. McCain will really have to carry Florida and Ohio to have a chance tonight.

Saved By Zero

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Saved by Zero
This commercial has gone too far. Writing this sentence 45 minutes into Monday Night Football, this monstrosity has been played at least 4 times already. It might be more, but I blacked out for a moment after punching my ears. If I owned a Toyota, I would light it on fire.

Saved By Zero is so bad, that it already has its own facebook group bent on the commercial’s destruction.

This is Our Country
Not only was this commercial annoying, but it went on for over two years, with many different variations mauling viewers from coast to coast. If I ever see John Cougar Mellencamp, I will pick him up and drop him.

What other commercial annoys the heck out of you? If you leave a comment, I will find it and add it here.
