Super. Bowl. Champions.  At one time in Patriots history, it would have seemed impossible.  During others, it was more of an expected right.  Nonetheless, Tom finally got number four.  And if you’re anything like me, you’re already thinking about how he will get number five.

It’s been a long difficult road since the Patriots Super Bowl 39 victory over Philadelphia.   Since then, the Patriots have won more games and division championships than any other team in the league.  But something was missing.  Every year come the beginning of February, there was a certain agony of disbelief. New York Jets v New Engalnd Patriots

NEPD Editor: James Christensen

Holy hell, that just happened didn’t it? The New England Patriots’ fourth rings fits as well as the first, earned after a year full of roller-coaster emotions. Don’t expect Bill Belichick to celebrate the win too long, however.

He is most certainly “On to the 2015 NFL Draft.” Here is one way the Patriots could attack the draft this April.

Tampa Bay will get the first shot at selecting the Oregon Quarterback.

Another NFL regular season is in the books and it’s time to shift focus to NFL Draft Season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by former Patriots Personnel man Jason Licht own the #1 overall pick followed by the Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Oakland Raiders. As things stand right now there is a good chance Oregon QB Marcus Mariota will be taking his talents to the West Coast of Florida, but after that this draft is filled with question marks and uncertainity. Here’s how the 2015 NFL Draft could look four months from now with one caveat — everything will change.

Bill Belichick: Dual Threat as GM and Coach

Sunday, December 14th, 2014

NEPD Staff Writer: Jason Cappell

I’ll admit it, I was wrong. Early on in the year, it appeared as though Bill Belichick’s duties as GM had put the New England Patriots’ season at risk. However, after a few shrewd moves, Belichick has the team back on track and primed for a Super Bowl run. With risk comes reward, and while the Patriots in-season moves were not guaranteed to work out, they’ve provided the team with a lift.

At the beginning of the season the Patriots were painfully thin at linebacker, and when Jerod Mayo went down in Week 6, that need bordered on crisis. However, as the Patriots have proved time and time again, it was next man up, and Dont’a Hightower rose to the challenge and hasn’t looked back.

LeGarrette Blount is Back: Warn The Public

Friday, November 28th, 2014

NEPD Staff Writer: Jason Cappell

It is amazing what the friendly confides of Gillette Stadium can sometimes do for an NFL player.  First it was Akeem Ayers, then Jonathan Casillas and Alan Branch. Now it’s former Patriot running back Legarette Blount who is salvaging his NFL career in Foxboro.

Not long ago as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Blount walked off the field after getting zero carries while starter Le’Veon Bell ran the ball 33 times. Now back in a New England jersey for the second time, Blount carried the football like he never left the Patriots.

The turnaround shouldn’t come as a surprise. Belichick’s mid-season acquisitions make Foxboro the home of reclamation projects.

Can anything top the 2013 Iron Bowl?

Can anything top the 2013 Iron Bowl?

NEPD Staff Writer: CJ Sousa

Turkey.  Stuffing.  Delayed Flights.   Oh yeah, it’s that time of year again.  Rivalry Week is upon us in the college football universe.  For some teams, their rivalry game is the only game that matters all season.  Others need to beat their hated rival to stay in the play off race.  Regardless, winning is the most important statistic of the weekend.  (more…)
