The 2017 NFL Draft has been extremely difficult to project over the course of the spring. Generally as we inch closer to draft night we begin to gain some clarity, however the opposite is true this year. There is no clarity in sight, in fact things got even more murky this afternoon with some late draft developments. The uncertainty surrounding the Quarterback position, teams targeting QBs early, medical red flags, and the seemingly even distribution of draft talent from pick #2-32 has made this year exceptionally difficult to predict. While it should make for an fun and exciting draft night, it makes completing mocks like this nightmarish.

4 Vince Biegel LB Wisconson

6 Cole Hikutini TE Louisville

Very good mock,
We have a lot of the same picks. Of course, if the Browns, well, are the Browns and take Trubiski at one, then the whole thing can just be blown up.
One other thing.
Surely, if Cleveland doesn’t take Garrett first then SF either takes him at 2 or trades with someone who can’t believe he’s still there and will pay a premium to get him.
Then the whole draft boards of pretty much every other team now gets ripped up and every mock fails.
Could that work for or against us I wonder? Probably it would effect only the first two rounds and our projections will only be destroyed by BB doing his own thing. Also, very good reasoning on your post just below. It could just be.
Lots of suggestions that the Bears want to go QB with their first pick. If thats the case it would explain why Schefter apparently said that Trubisky will be the #1 pick, as he likely would be gone before the Browns could get back in at #5.
Its easy to rip on the Browns, but the reality is that unless they get a Franchise QB then Myles Garrett really isn’t going to help them win more games.
So, if they really do believe that Trubisky is their QB of the future then they really should pick him over Garrett. Conventional wisdom says Trubisky isn’t a QB worthy of picking first overall, but thats the gamble Cleveland has to take.
As a football fan I’m excited about tonight even though the Patriots won’t be involved. You never know maybe they swing one of the much rumored trades and grab a top 32 player. I would hate for Cleveland to package picks to the Jets to get Trubisky when the Pats could have gotten a good deal for Jimmy. Well we will see.
It’s good to get to know these players because they may one day be Patriots, i.e. Kony and Cooks.
My only hope is that the Pats address their needs like Dee line and linebacker and tackle. As I have joked before, and other too, no punters and long snappers.
Once the picks are made we can wait and see if the excel like Trey Flowers or bust like Easley.
Sometimes Bill picks a player at the right position but the wrong player. Two examples that stick out to me are Jermaine Cunningham when Carlos Dunlap was still on the board. And Aaron Dobson when Keenan Allen still there.
Everybody have fun tonight.
Final Patriots draft; Good luck all with your picks!
CB/S – Desmond King; BB may make some kind of trade move to move up a few picks to get King.
DL – Chris Wormley; Wormley, or Tomlinson here, each is not a pass rusher, so may be available, but are great Patriots system fits.
OT Will Holden; Intangibles, & skill levels to high not to grab.
S -Eddie Jackson; Value pick, with CB & punt return abilities.
LB -Eric Wilson; Speedy/strong tackler to start on BB special teams.
DE – Evan Schwon ; Interesting prospect.
3rd-WR
3rd-Long Snapper
4th-QB
Trade-5,6 to move into 4 to trade for K
7th- Edge Rusher
BB always does opposite of what we want so hey why not!!!
Tommy G why are you trying to ruin my weekend?
Yes Tommy, Why trying to kill all are weekends???? A long snapper?????????
I hoping the BB will do the opposite of what we think he will do. A reverse reverse psychology lol…..
I got that Tommy. Sometimes my attempted humor doesn’t work.
Wow this first round looks as bad as 2013 and no OT in top 10 ? Hmm I’m not sure about that.
If Pats trade up it’s going to be to grab Davis or that guy from Mizzou. Knowing the Pats, they’ll draft Trey Hendrickson and Howard Wilson.in the third If they trade up in the second, they’ll draft a kicker, I’m sure.
KIcker, kicker, you too Antigonus? Please save me from misplaced humor. Bill could not be so unkind????
