Re-setting the Big Board for Day 3

Will the Patriots focus on offense after the first two days of the draft focused on Defense?

Will the Patriots focus on offense after the first two days of the draft focused on Defense?

After a roller coaster ride on day 1 and 2 of the draft, the Patriots are still left with 7 picks on day 3.  The pick of Malcom Brown left most fans feeling very good about the draft, but after a couple of questionable picks yesterday, we are left scratching our heads and wondering what the Patriots have planned for today.  There is still plenty of talent left on the board at positions the Patriots could actually use help. Hopefully the Patriots can use those picks to lift the spirits of its fanbase and end the draft on a high note.

I won’t get into my thoughts on Grissom or Richards in this post. I want to collect my thoughts and watch more tape. My initial reaction is like most of yours. I don’t hate the players, I just do not like where they were picked. I will say that it seems like names I had much lower have come off the board earlier than I expected throughout the draft.

As for today though, I go in with blind optimism that with 7 picks the Patriots can still hit on needs and get good players. I have updated my horizontal and vertical big board to highlight who is still avaiable. The players names in bold are still available. I hope you all enjoy day 3 of the draft and we can end this draft on a positive note.

    Final Mock Draft 3.
4 Jamil Douglass G Arizona St.
    4 Rashad Greene WR FSU
    4 Anthony Chickillo DE Miami
5 Taiwan Jones ILB Michigan St.
    6 Charles Gaines CB Louisville
6 Andy Gallick C Boston College

Patriots should be able to strengthen both offensive and defensive lines today.
