With the draft just over two days away, it’s time to take a look at a very preliminary mock draft which takes into consideration some of the recent news reports, in particular the speculation that Jacksonville is poised to select an offensive tackle with the second overall pick. This mock draft will be updated periodically leading up to the draft.

Tyler Eifert is not as valuable than Tavon Austin. No way Eifert is an 8. Hell Lineman are more valuable in that range or at least a great everydown back and there are none worth taking at. With what u got here is not very accurate. The pack will not take a wide receiver in round 1. they get lineman, more value. The get receivers 2nd or later and bring the up to speed of the pro game. Plus their are plenty of very good receivers they can bring up to the pro game, Gregg Jennings

  2. steve earle says:

Tank or Daton Jones, either would great, love it! No 2nd round in any of the 3 new mocks but WR’s like Wheaton or Terrance Williams would be great values there. A few decent CB’s might still be around at the bottom of the 3rd. All in all even with our limited picks Bill should be able to grab 3 or (4 if he trades down) players that will improve the team. Looking forward to it, GO PATS!

    • AM says:

Wheaton would be a great addition–speed plus crisp route running makes for a great Patriots fit.

I’m hoping that we trade back with the Eagles and pick up their fourth round pick; two 2nds, a 3rd, and a high 4th is a good range of picks for a draft with this depth.

      • steve earle says:

I’d go for that. Won’t be long now until it.starts and as soon as the first 12 or 15 picks are off the board we should get a clearer picture of who are the viable choices Bill might choose from. GO PATS!

The Packers will not waste a no.1 choice on a WR when they need so much help on D. They have three good WRs and two decent backups already, so taking another backup in the first round is not going to happen. Look for a 3/4 DE (Worthy may not be back by the start of the season) or a Safety if a legit LT doesn’t slip to them.

  4. Matt says:

NO way the Lions pass on one of the top three LT’s in this draft for a player with potential to boom or bust, no matter how athletic he is. To much risk vs. a LT that will start for them first day and improve their whole OL by allowing them to move pieces to other holes to fill

  5. PatsDJ says:

I do not think Carradine gets out of the top 20 picks.
Lane Johnson goes between #3 & #5 watch the video of him vs Texas. Unreal athlete for a tackle.
I do not see a guard being drafted in the top 15 picks
I think Ryan Nassib goes top 20 and is the 1st QB drafted.
This is one of the better mock drafts I have seen.

    • kdog says:

This year’s draft seems so unpredictable. It feels like there will be a lot of jockeying around, which makes it so tough to mock.

But I agree with PatsDJ that Nassib will go in the 1st round (although maybe not the 1st QB). . . I look for Nassib, Geno, Barkley, and Manuel to all go in the 1st. . . I wouldn’t even be shocked if we take one of them (and trade Mallet).

      • PatsDJ says:

I think there will be more trades in this draft than last years. There will be trade backs in 1st round because 5 teams do not have 2nd round picks. I think Buffalo will trade down and then take Nassib. They get the guy they want and add more picks.
My guess is 8 QBs in the 1st 2 rounds. With teams trading up from round 2 & 3.
Mallets stock will never be higher because of the lack of top flight QB talent. Next year there is a great QB class coming in. So, if you are going to trade him now is the time.

        • steve earle says:

Wow! Really 8 QB’s in the first two? That would be a surprise to me but can’t help think it would work to are advantage. Hope your right.

  6. Chris says:

    I predict they trade 1st for a 2nd in the 40′s and a 4th. I’d like to see…

    2. WR R.Woods / K.Allen
    2. CB D.Slay / J.Poyer
    3. WR S.Bailey/ M.Wheaton
    4. a guard

  7. Cam M says:

If they pick Carradine with their first pick, I would be ecstatic. Him and Jones would both be menaces coming off the edge and cause chaos for opposing QB’s. I approve

    • qwerty says:

      i’d be ecstatic about carradine.

his injury makes it more difficult for teams at higher spot to choose him.

any receiver we get will be relegated to 5th wheel at best

      • Nuf Ced says:

yep… not McLoven any of these WRs. Like me some DeAndre Hopkins but not before a D-lineman or elephant
