Musket Blasts: 2013 NFL Draft Links (1/30)

Deandre Hopkins

Would Deandre Hopkins be a good fit in New England?

NEPD Editor: James Christensen

Here are five of the best NFL and NFL Draft links from around the network for you to peruse.

BuffaloBillsDraft.com writer Tony Wiltshire is at the Texas vs Nation All Star Game, here are his practice notes from day one. He also has all the TvN weigh-in data.

With the first day of practices down at Texas v. Nation here are some notes on some of the individual players that impressed and some that didn’t. While many will be focused on players like Ray Ray Armstrong, and MarQuies Gray it was two rather unknown players who stood out on Day 1.

Good read on the CBA as it relates to rookie contracts and the salary cap from Mike Tricarichi at DraftBrowns.com – everyone should know this.

Hello class, this is Cap Planning 101. I’m Professor Mikey, if you’re not here for this class, I urge you to stick around anyway, you might learn something! I don’t give exams, homework, or dirty looks, only a classroom that promotes critical thinking and basic mathematics.

Scouting report for talented Clemson receiver “Nuke” Hopkins from DetroitLionsDraft.com – he’d look good in the Silver and Blue.

DeAndre Hopkins sent his productive career out the right way with a dominant 13 reception, 191 yards, and 2 touchdown performance in his final game against LSU. The former two-sport star at Clemson continually developed his receiver skills during his career at Clemson. The natural tools and athleticism are what his game is based on, but he’s still growing when it comes to the intricacies of the position.

Should the Dolphins keep Jake Long?

It might seem like only yesterday the Dolphins were on the clock with the first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, however in reality, the Dolphins are already faced with a sad realization, that that first pick may have played his last snap as a Dolphin by 2012.

The Jets would be making a big mistake trading “Revis Island”.

If the Jets decide to go through with trading the best defensive player in the game in Darrelle Revis (as reported by Jason LaCanfora), it would be a mistake that will haunt them for decades to come.

  1. acm says:

I honestly doubt BB would draft a WR higher than mid 2nd round (assuming trading down that 1st round pick). Some good talent in this WR class and no need to go for the hyped up players here. Would be happy with someone like Patton, Bailey, Dobson/Rogers, Swope/Vernon, etc.

  2. Russell Easterbrooks says:

I think WR hopkins would be great for New England, but he will be gone before they pick. BB will surely trade back for more picks as well.
