Brandon Bolden Suspended for PED Use

Running back Brandon Bolden has been suspended for PED use https://twitter.com/pfwpaul/status/267011031430217728“>according to Patriots Football Weekly’s Paul Perillo. The NFL has no disclosed which drug Bolden tested positive for. Bolden will be eligible to return to the team on December 3rd.

Bolden was an undrafted free agent in 2012 out of Ole Miss. Bolden 234 yards on 43 carries with 2 touchdowns. Bolden broke out in week 4 against the Buffalo Bills when he ran for 137 yards and a touchdown. Bolden has not practiced this week and has not played since week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks. Bolden currently is recovering from a knee injury. Bolden was likely a couple of weeks from returning to the field according to the Boston Herald.

The suspension is the first time since Brandon Spikes in 2010 that a Patriots player has been suspended without pay for PED use.

Expect to see an even bigger role for former 2nd round pick Shane Vereen.
