The New England Patriots have signed former first-round draft pick Kellen Winslow. Winslow was waived by the Seattle Seahawks on September 1st after he declined to have his salary reduced. Deion Branch also has rejoined the fold, signing with the Patriots today.

Defensive linemen are supposed to be large, hulking figures. Size, bulk and girth are desired traits. If you walk into a big-and-tall store and need something less than triple-XL, don’t bother being a nose tackle.

While the conference games have generally not yet begun, players are already moving up and down draft boards based on their early season performances. A player can drastically change their draft status between the beginning of their final season and the draft, but often their early season performance is what gets their name buzzing around the scouting community.
