Come back every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as I choose my five favorite New England Patriots and NFL Draft links to share. Feel free to submit your own links in the comments.
Stevan Ridley suffered some sort of leg injury yesterday. Some have called it a knee, others have said hamstring. Tavon Wilson and Jabar Gaffney also suffered minor injuries. (CSNNE.com)
Ridley stopped participating in drills right around the same time, about 90 minutes into practice. He was on his feet and walking gingerly on the sideline for much of the remainder of the session.
As the preseason continues on and we finally get to see some players in action, the 2012 Bills come into focus a little more. After weeks of practice, and four arguably meaningless games, we fans get a better sense of the strength and weaknesses of our beloved team. With that in mind, after each preseason game I’m going to take a shot at predicting the 53 man roster using the game action and the weeks worth of practices to inform my decision. Just to clarify, this is not necessarily the 53 man roster that I believe to be the strongest combination of parts, but rather, the 53 man roster that I believe we are most likely to see.
Coach Belichick is not a fan of the newest Patriots practice and preseason schedule. (CSNNE.com)
The Patriots will practice tomorrow and begin to prepare for their exhibition game Monday against the Eagles. The next day, the team travels to Tampa Bay for the first of two joint practices before their exhibition game on Friday. Only two days separates that game from their final preseason game against the Giants. Before the preseason finale, Belichick must decide on his 75-man roster.
Could Jeff Demps join the Jets? (NYJetsDraft.com)
After passing on entering the 2012 NFL Draft to join the US Olympic 4×100 meter relay team, Jeff Demps now returns home as a silver medal winner and is ready to enter the NFL. Demps participated in 51 games throughout his college career playing throughout his freshman year all the way through his senior year.
Tyrann Mathieu is in rehab. (CBS Sports)
The source said Mathieu’s issue was with marijuana, not any other drug. There was also fear among those close to Mathieu that he might move on to heavier drugs. Eventually, the hope is that once Mathieu is ready to leave the rehab center, he will re-enroll at LSU and the player could return to the Tigers team in 2013.
