Come back every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as I choose my five favorite New England Patriots and NFL Draft links to share. Feel free to submit your own links in the comments.

First Chad Johnson was bad, then he was really bad. Johnson was subsequently released by Miami. (MiamiDolphinsDraft.com / Big Lead)

TMZ obtained the police report from Chad Johnson’s domestic violence arrest. According to the report, Johnson’s wife Evelyn Lozada “fled on foot to a neighbor’s house to get away from Johnson.” Johnson purportedly drove around the neighborhood looking for her. He claimed he was driving around the neighborhood to give her time to calm down.

Could Ross Ventrone stick for good on the Patriots? (Boston Herald)

Since Aug.  1, 2011, Ventrone has been involved in 21 roster moves with the Patriots. It’s a hectic and uncertain life in the NFL for the 25-year-old and it won’t get any easier. He played in eight games last season. If he appears in one more game, he will lose his practice squad eligibility for the 2012 season. This camp could be one of his last shots to show he belongs. “I don’t even try to think about it,” said Ventrone, who has two career tackles. “I just worry about every practice — just trying to be the best player I can be. And however the organization sees me help the team, I’ll do it.”

Logan Mankins is made out of steel. (Boston.com)

The sight of No. 70 on the field was surely met with warm feelings by the Patriots’ faithful. Logan Mankins didn’t do much at all, but this was the start of the process to get the All-Pro left guard back in the lineup just six months removed from ACL surgery. Considering the state of the Patriots’ offense line, it can’t come soon enough.

Is Plaxico Burress on the Patriots radar? (Yahoo Sports)

A person with knowledge of the tryout tells The Associated Press that Burress had been invited to Foxborough, Mass., to work out for the AFC champions. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the tryout has not been publicly announced. Burress spent last season with the Jets after finishing a 20-month prison sentence on a gun charge. New York did not re-sign Burress, who turned 35 on Sunday.

A profile of Florida State’s draft prospects, including a favorite of mine: defensive end Bjoern Werner. (Draft Hub)

On a Florida State defense loaded with NFL talent, Bjoern Werner could very well be the top NFL prospect. He had a breakout sophomore season in 2011, notching 37 total tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks as the Seminoles’ starting left defensive end. When you consider that he was playing just his fourth season of organized football, his production and overall feel for the game scream his enormous upside.
