2012 NFL Draft Sleeper: Kourtnei Brown Interview

Kourtnei Brown is the next in a long line of Clemson pass rushers

NEPD Editor: Mike Loyko

Each year the Clemson Tigers send defensive linemen to the NFL. This year is no different, as they are expected to send four to the NFL. Kourtnei Brown is one of those four and he spoke with NEPD Editor Mike Loyko recently about his journey to the NFL.

Kourtnei Brown is the typical Clemson defensive end, he’s big, fast and athletic. Unlike the other Clemson DL in this year’s draft Brown was not given multiple chances to impress NFL scouts. He wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine and he wasn’t chosen to play in any post season all star games. Brown had to wait three months from the end of his college season to his pro day for his chance to impress pro scouts, and impress he did.

At the Clemson pro day Brown was able to post a 40 yard dash time of 4.69, a time which would have ranked Kourtnei in the top ten among defensive linemen at the NFL Combine. His pro day performance, along with improvement shown throughout his senior year, which including an amazing two touchdown performance against North Carolina showed he has the potential to play in the NFL.
