Film Room Notes: Senior Bowl

Strengths: 4 year starter at Louisiana-Lafayette – Confident and aggresive CB – Displays smooth, fluid movements – Plays under control with coordinated movement – Takes small and quick steps – His quickness is his biggest asset – Fluid hips, is able to flip and run with WR – Plays on his toes, doesn’t allow himself to get caught flat footed – Quick twitch athlete, no wasted movement in his turns – Disciplined with his eyes and patient with his reads – When he sees it, he does a good job of planting foot and breaking on it – Above average change of direction, gets in and out of his breaks with ease – Plays mostly off man and off zone coverages, but has some experience in press  man – Ideal fit for zone coverage teams due to his ability to play in space and close on receivers – Sub 4.40 speed – Plays with a confidence and toughness, doesn’t back down from bigger WRs despite thin and undersized frame – Willing to support in the run game and “throw” his body around, made 71 tackles as a senior and 232 in his career.

Weaknesses: Thin, narrow frame, especially in the waist area – May need to gain some muscle mass – Extremely small hands measuring right around 8″ , could lead to trouble catching the ball – Even though he is willing, he struggles to get jams on WR, spends to much time “following” WR instead of directing them where to go – Needs to stay lower in his backpedal, has a tendency to lean forward, instead of bending at the hips – Not a polished tackler, puts his head down and tries to cut down the ball carrier – Needs to learn how to wrap up.
