2012 NFL Draft Sleeper: Kyle Martens Interview

Kyle Martens NFL Draft

Top Ranked Punter Kyle Martens talks with NEPD

NEPD Editor: Mike Loyko

Kyle Martens isn’t your typical punter. Kyle is a tremendous athlete who grew up in the small town of Spearfish South Dakota, which isn’t exactly a hot bed of football talent. Martens was asked to play multiple positions on his high school team, but it was as a punter that he caught the eye of college recruiters. Kyle is a tireless worker who has improved on his technique and punting stats each season.

Here is what Kyle had to say.

Martens is now ranked as one of the two or three best draft eligible punters. He now resides in a small town in northern Wyoming with a population of less than 20 people. Safe to say if he makes it to the NFL it would be a big deal for the people in his town. Kyle was one of only a handful of kickers invited to the combine which bodes well for his chances of hearing his name being called in April. I appreciate the time Kyle took to talk with me. He is a real humble kid who I wish all the luck in the world.

Why hasn’t anyone said anything about CB Bobby Felders from Nicholls State? The kid is a beast. Rumor has it scouts are starting pay attention. 2 time all conferance, 12 Int’s, 3 blocked field goal, etc, etc. Not to mention the kid is 6 feet 185 and runs a 4.4 forty!
