Donnie Fletcher, CB, Boston College
Height: 6’0 2/8
Grade: 6.0 (Grading Scale)
Hands: 8 7/8″ Arms: 30″ Wingspan: 76 1/8″
Film Room Notes: Senior Bowl
Strengths: Fletcher is a tall and long CB – Has primarily played zone corner, but has exhibited the willingness and ability to play multiple other coverages, even though his best fit is a zone CB – Fletcher is one of the more physical CB in the draft – Can really attack defenders at the LOS and shed WRs – Pretty fluid for his size – Could be a very good asset of special teams as a gunner – Sound footwork – Has a good feel for zone coverages and can recognize and understand what the offense is trying to do -Exhibited leadership qualities during Senior Bowl week – An aggressive and eager player, who has really improved over the course of his BC career.
Weaknesses: Starts his pedal with his rear end high in the air, needs to drop his hips – Has a tendency to get caught looking into the backfield in man – Still getting used to man since Boston College rarely used it – Doesn’t have the elite agility some of the other CBs have and will likely do better operating with more of a cushion – Needs to trust his eyes and instincts more
