2012 NFL Combine: First Impressions QB

2012 NFL Scouting Combine

How have the quarterbacks looked so far at the NFL Combine?

NEPD Editor: Doug Kyed

Top quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III… won’t throw.

And neither will Brock Osweiler or Ryan Tannehill. But most of those guys will run and go through the workouts, so lets see how they looked checking in to the combine:

-Robert Griffin III checked in over 6’2”, which was at least fairly important. I highly doubt his stock would have dropped much if he was 6’1” or 6’0”, but it was nice to see that he was actually listed lower than his actual height at Baylor.

-Andrew Luck came in at an impressive 6034 234.

-Neither Kellen Moore or Russell Wilson grew since the Senior Bowl. Despite how much Boise State fans were hoping.

-Ryan Tannehill came in at 6041 221, but had the smallest hands at 9 inches. He didn’t seem to have any fumbling issues at Texas A&M, but it is something to watch for.

-Case Keenum came in at 6006, which I was a litle surprised about. When he stood next to Kellen Moore at the skills challenge, they looked the same height. It was good to see for Keenum though.

-Comparing against our Senior Bowl weigh in, Kirk Cousins apparently grew ⅜” and gained five pounds, Nick Foles shrunk ⅜” and lost a pound, Ryan Lindley maintained both his height and weight, Kellen Moore gained six pounds, Brandon Weeden grew 2/8” and gained two pounds and I lied earlier, Russell Wilson actually grew ⅝” and gained a pound.

    just a theory

I think weight lifting can shorten a person since it could compress the spine. I would use one of those inverter tables to stretch the spine out.
