Mike Martin NFL Draft

Mike Martin, DT/NT, Michigan

Height: 6’1″ 1/4
Weight: 307
Grade: 6.7H (Grading Scale)

Hands: 9 3/8″    Arms: 31 3/4″    Wingspan: 73″

Film Room Notes: vs Ohio State, vs Michigan State

Strengths: Martin is one of the strongest and stoutest players in the country – Former state champion wrestler, plays with tremendous leverage – Keeps his pads square and is near impossible to drive off the LOS one on one – Creates penetration from 3-technique – Battles hard on every play, extremely powerful at point of impact – Great balance, keeps his hips under him and generates a lot of his power – Very strong use of hands – Can simply wear down opposing linemen with his strength, could go over 50 reps at combine – Probably the most impressive body at Senior Bowl weigh in -Almost never goes to the ground, which speaks to his balanced base and not getting over-extended – Team captain.

Weaknesses: Martin will never be a dynamic pass rusher – Ceiling might be limited compared to other DL propsects- Height is an issue but makes up for it with power – Can struggle to take on double teams – Short arms and wingspan – Some teams don’t know if he is a NT of 3-tech – Tries to make more plays instead of anchoring in some cases, essentially opening up holes
