  1. Ryan says:

tight end what about shiancoe or ballard. Hernandez and gronk will make the team. I think Branch will make the team at wide receiver. Stallworth or demps will be back returning punts and kicks. Slater was an all pro in 2011 and he will make the squadmake it

  2. willy says:

    probably not too far off.

could see pryor or brace making the team.

    very doubtful ebner makes it.

could very well see an lb like tarpinian or tracy white or koutivides for special teams purposes.

would not be shocked to see either stallworth or branch go. matthew slater might be the 6th wr.

ol is tough to call because of all the injuries. thomas and/or mcdonald could be there depending on health. even zusevics if vollmer still having issues.

dbs also tough to predict because there are so many candidates. barrett? Ihedigbo? brown?

and who knows with the running backs. seems like they would keep 4, but not inconceivable if they went with 5 and bolden made the squad. or maybe he beats out somebody?

  3. Dean Dean says:

Wishing they might pick up Cody Pearcy

  4. Ryan says:

Not Brace, not 3 centers, Ebner makes for sure. Cole hopefully makes it. Also, Ebert or Francis hopefully makes it.

  5. Matthew says:

I think Britt Davis over Stallworth same skill but younger and Justin Francis for DL over Brace

  6. Eric says:

I really wish they’d been able to flip Hoyer for a 2nd, or even a 3rd. I also still fail to see the real necessity of Joseph Addai, but Bill knows best.

If they’re able to get Ebner, Cole, Ebert, Forston, Francis, Warren, and Zusevics on the practice squad, I think they’d be utterly stacked.

  7. McTash says:

I’ll take Pryor over Brace and believe for strategic and health reASONS Mankins starts on PUP with Thomas taking that spot – I agree with 9 OL.

I wonder whether Cole as top special teamer makes team and whether or not this is the year White goes with Tarpinian taking his spot.

Injuries of course will make all the difference in the world.

  8. Joe says:

Will Allen maybe? I find it hard to think they won’t try to stabilize the DB position with a veteran presence. He’s on the roster, so I can’t see him not making it.

  9. Jason says:

Why sweat this stuff so much??? It sounds in here like you never win……I think you’ll be okay….lol

  10. Jim says:

Can’t argue. No Brace means another blown second round draft choice. Seems to be a lot of that lately.

    • Grant says:

Jeff tarpinian LB is special teams guy they apparently love with speed and potential and could see Forston sneaking in as an UDFA

    • MilitStrat54 says:

My guess is the Pats lose focus. They get caught up in how well they did (looking backward) that they fail to concentrate on the task right under their nose. Same thing in games lost. SB had the Pats down 9-0 when they made a comeback to 17-9 ahead. Seems they get so happy with themselves they lose focus and fail to finish the job. Didn’t score again in SB and lost. In regards to the draft they got so happy with their first two picks they lost focus and the rest of the draft falls in the “what could have been” category. It strange that they were so happy with their first two picks (not upset with the players themselves but how many points they spent to get them). Could have saved roughly 80-120 draft points. Then had they focused on day two, they could have come away with at least 480-520 more points to use on some real defensive gems (prospect wise). Hope this Wilson kid becomes a pro bowler so BB doesn’t look like an dementia candidate. Key to victory in any endeavor is to FOCUS on the task at hand. Maybe the Pats should visit Paris Island (Marine Corps boot camp). I guarantee you they’d learn a little something about focus and attention to detail!!! With Brady at 35 this coming season, that gives the Pats a 3-5 year window to get it right. Unfortunately they turned what could have been a monster draft into just a good one. Giants, Packers, Steelers all kept pace and the Bengals (yes the Bengals just closed the gap- good thing they have management and chemistry problems or they could be a serious roadblock).

    • Paul says:

I dont see Wr Jeremy Ebert making the team but taken up a spot on the PS the same may go for Nate Ebner Freeing up one spot for Brace and one for Marquice Cole. One of the bigger question will they go with 9 OL or 10

  11. Steve says:

    Myron Pryor?

  12. Liam says:

Pretty good prediction at this point. Could swap Carters for a bit more experience upfront. Also could see a veteran safety signing like Yeremiah Bell or Tanard Jackson. You’ve also got 6 listed recievers rather than your counted 5, putting your roster at 54, so you’ll have to choose someone to try to slide onto the practice squad.

  13. Johal says:

Also i think brace is getting cut for sure. If he comes into camp out of shape like he did last year. He’s not going to make the the 53

  14. Johal says:

I absolutely love this roster projection. Sad to see ocho to be let go especially since he gladly took a cut. I wouldn’t be surprised to see if stallworth is cut in favor of ocho, since he is on a one year deal.

  15. Mark says:

No Anthony Gonzalez? I know expectations are low but I’m rooting for him.

  16. Tony D says:

Your projected roster is way off! You think Greg Childs makes the roster over Gonzalez? Hahahaha! Childs please! Make that pick Joe Adams and now we are talking. Seeing the lack of available roster spots, especially if they resign Andre Carter, actually leads me to believe that the Pats may trade up in the draft. I wonder if the Browns (assuming they want to grab Weeden) would be interested in sending the 22nd pick to the Pats for the 31st pick and the 2nd of the two second round picks. It makes a lot of sense because 22 is a reach for Weeden and they would get that extra 2nd round pick.

  17. psw says:

2-1st. & 2 2nd. round picks. I want to see a legitimate 3-4 DE, a rush OLB, a CB and an S. The third and fourth rounds can be used to look for interior OL help. Let’s remember two thing: one our offense was top of the league last year, we signed some new recievers, wr is not a proiority, two our defense was one of the worst ever to make the playoffs, any other offense could not have dragged this D into the superbowl. Defense is where we need all the help, keep focused.

  18. dslave says:

Great jog. I disagree with the draft picks, but Ido like the makeup of the roster. Ithink BB may draft some edge rushers but not move up. Lewis is a cover linebacker which they dont have. I dont like the truman johnson pick, he’s too slow.

  19. Paul says:

I like the trade proposal with St.Louis but is it not more BB style to get a proven talent in trade with lower picks.. Freeney from the colts for a 3rd rounder this year and next may be more bang for the buck..

  20. Josh says:

Brian Hoyer and Ronnell Lewis don’t make the team? Also I think we keep 6 WR. Guessing Ocho makes it over Branch. A rookie WR makes 6 (would love Brian Quick).

  21. McTash says:

Hoyer will be the back-up QB and we will keep 3. I see Gonzalez over Branch and agree Ocho is gone and I don’t understand the fascination with such an unproductive WR. Light coming back would be great but is not consistent with all else we read. So, so hard to project the draft choices. 4th RB will be interesting as I could see a veteran but why not spend a 4th round choice on one? Nothing wrong with quality youth. Brace and cunningahm probably coming back but like Butler last year will have to produce early or they will be gone. I also don’t see Coples coming and do see a couple other DL’s being added. Let’s wait till after the draft and some more FA signings before we can do this again with more certainty.

  22. p8ryts says:

    No Hoyer? I don’t agree.
    Larsen the free agent RB.
I really hope Light and Waters return. What’s a Mitchell Schwarz. I must have missed him somewhere.
Ron Brace? Quinton Coples? I’ll settle for Fletcher Cox and maybe Myron Pryor.
Jermaine Cunningham? Jeff Tarpinian? Hoping for an upgrade.
Brooks and Johnson good additions. Ihedigbo not so much, prefer a healthy Barrett.

  23. Tanner says:

these guys need to get courtney upshaw or trade for, i hate to say it, one on the giants D linemen. If we had either justin tuck or osi umenyora( I think i just butchered that guys name) we probably would have won. Having the 2010 version of Devin McCourty would not hurt either. They should draft janoris jenkins if he falls to them because of his off the field issues.

  24. mark says:

Deion branch over ocho.. yes ocho had hard time but if he can get it he still has cpuple more years … Deion branch showed he is slowin down all of last year.

  25. KB says:

Couples or not, Pats are gonna need to draft an edge rusher early. Enuf is enuf already! We’v heard Caserio say this is deep draft @ that position so lets get 1. Had plenty of opportunity to sign 1 but didn’t want to anti up

  26. dslave says:

I think they will draft a dt in the first round. Not a fan of couples. He doesn’t possess a high motor. Don’t know if football is important to him. I want to them draft shea mcClellin instead.

  27. Rick says:

Couples? He has boom/ bust written all over him. No way belicheck trades those 2 picks in a deep DL draft

  28. Russ, England says:

No real upgrade at LB, leaving us solid in the middle, but not spectacular. Depends on what you think of Rob Ninkovich. Upgrade at Corner is relying on Ras-I staying healthy. Safety is a relative unknown, but could be better, seems to rely on a rookie awfully heavilly. D Line looks pretty tasty, and appreciate that the sub-rush could be as good as, if not better than last year. Fairly solid look on defence, but I think some people would be disappointed that there wasn’t a greater overhaul.

I’d be happy, this is basically the superbowl team with a deep threat, younger pass rush and some upside at safety.

    • j ball says:

i sure as heck hope markell carter makes a difference this season like people are projecting. Looks like he could be a big difference maker

  29. Ryan says:

    Donte Stallworth?

  30. clay says:

    WOW. I love this!

    • kevan says:

matt slater will make the team, i dont think the pats will trade down for couples and there will be another olb on here as well.
