Matt Kalil, OT, USC
Height: 6’7″
Weight: 295
Grade: 7.6 (Grading Scale)
Film Room Notes: vs Oregon, vs Notre Dame, vs
Strengths: Solid height and has the frame to add some bulk – Looks to have very long arms, once they are locked on it is lights out – Strength is not a concern – Bends very well – Very patient in pass protection – Not an elite athlete, but good enough to be very effective on screens, pulls, and in the open field – Has improved his hand placement over last year – Has a lineman’s attitude and will do anything to help his team win – Has NFL bloodlines – Team captain.
Weaknesses: Starts low, but can get high during the play – Doesn’t always stay on his line, might have trouble with extremely quick NFL DE’s – Has the frame to do it, but could really use another 10 pounds or to improve his anchor at the next level.
