Here we are yet again with the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl featuring Purdue and Western Michigan-I can hardly contain my excitement. Here are the top 2012 NFL Draft prospects to watch on each team.
Purdue’s Top Prospect
#93 DT Kawann Short*
- Short measures up at 6’3″ 305 pounds
- A disruptive interior force- Makes a ton of plays behind the line of scrimmage as evidence by his 17 tackles for a loss
- Good short area quickness
- Utilized on a lot of slants and stunts which free him up
- Has good use of hands and can shed blockers- A very good interior pass rusher, 6.5 sacks on the year, including 3 in the Ohio St. game
- Gets way to over-aggresive at times which leaves big holes in the middle of the defense
- Gets block far too often for a player of his talent
- Consistant effort level is a question mark
- Short is only a junior so it’s likely he could return for his senior year
Western Michigan’s Top Prospect
#83 WR Jordan White
- White is an ultra-productive possesion WR, who leads the nation in receiving
- White has very solid hands
- Doesn’t allow the ball to get into his body
- Works the middle of the field as good as any WR in the country
- Isn’t afraid to take a hit- Decent size for a WR at 6ft.
- Most likely a slot WR at the next level
- Makes a ton of plays after the catch- Isn’t going to wow anybody with his speed or combine numbers
- Just makes plays and is reliable as any WR
- Has torn both of his ACLs which is a major red flag to NFL teams.
Others to watch:
#14 QB Alex Carder(Jr.), #1 FS Doug Wiggins
