Instead of wondering about what a “Belk” is, here are the top 2012 NFL Draft prospects to evaluate while watching the Belk Bowl – featuring North Carolina State and Louisville.
Louisville’s Top Prospect:
#11 TE Josh Chichester
As Jimmy Graham has shown, being extremely tall can certainly help your pro prospects as a tight end, whether or not you’ve played a lot of football.
Chichester is certainly a raw football player right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a team take a late-round flyer on a developmental red-zone target.
Others to watch: OC Mario Benavides, WR Josh Bellamy
NC State’s Top Prospect:
#42 LB Audie Cole
Cole is an instinctive, productive linebacker that has to play smart to make up for his 4.85 speed. He has the skill-set to play both inside and outside at the next level – depending on scheme.
I imagine teams will start targeting Cole late on day two of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Others to watch: OG Zach Allen, OC Cameron Wentz
