Stephon Gilmore NFL Draft

Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina

Height: 6’0″
Weight: 190
Grade: 7.3 (Grading Scale)

Film Room Notes: vs Tennessee, vs Vanderbilt

Hands: 9 1/4″ Arms: 31″

40: 4.40 Bench: 15 Reps Vert: 36″ Broad: 10’3″ 3-Cone: 6.61

Strengths: Excellent size for a CB – Has improved his ball skills, some great picks this year – Excels at blitzing the quarterback, three sacks in 2010 – Fights off blocks in run support – Uses the strength he has, usually gets a good jam in when asked to – Smart on and off the field – Seems to rarely blow a coverage or read a route incorrectly – Most effective off or in zone – Good balance and fluidity allows him to stick with faster receivers – Athletic kid, has returned punts and played some wildcat QB.

Weaknesses: Doesn’t always show his 4.4 speed on tape – Shows a sloppy backpedal at times – Technique as a whole needs cleaned up, although he has taken great strides since first coming to SC.
