Courtney Upshaw, ILB/OLB, Alabama
Height: 6’1 1/2″
Weight: 273
Grade: 7.4H (Grading Scale)
Hands: 8 5/8″ Arms: 31 1/2″ Wingspan: 75 1/4″
Film Room Notes: vs LSU, vs Ole Miss, vs Florida, vs Arkansas, vs PSU
Strengths: Incredibly versatile, can play 3-4 ILB, 3-4 OLB, or rush with his hand down – Has experience in college doing all three – Ideal bulk for a 3-4 LB – Very strong lower body helps him set the edge – Carries his weight very well, should run in the 4.7 range – Can beat OT’s with either the speed or power rush, very quick off the ball – Seems to enjoy hitting people – Locates the ball-carrier very well despite his height – Disciplined – Team captain.
Weaknesses: Below average height for 3-4 OLB, will probably come in a just under 6’2″ – Not great in coverage, but should be able to handle some hook zones inside or flat responsibility from the SAM – Struggles getting off blocks when in a 3-point stance – Will need to become more adept at picking his way through trash to play inside.
