Film Room Notes: vs Iowa
Strengths: Elite size, strength, length, and bulk – Physically overpowers defensive linemen – Finishes every block with tenacity – Gets to the second level and punishes linebackers – Looks like a RG or RT to us, but plays LT for Iowa State – Refuses to get pushed back, resetting well after absorbing initial punches – Has improved this year, bending more in the knees now.
Weaknesses: Durability is a concern, has recurring minor ankle issues – Certainly not in elite conditioning shape – Over-extends at times – Needs some technique refinement if he stays at tackle, will be better with his hand on the ground.
