2012 NFL Draft Watchlist: Donte Paige-Moss

Donte Paige-Moss Patriots

DE/OLB conversions are always intriguing to Patriots fans.

While the majority of the North Carolina schedule isn’t much to write home about, a November 17th showdown against Virginia Tech will be a good test Donte Paige-Moss’ skills against OT Blake DeChristopher.

Miami on the 15th of October will also be a showcase game for this DE/OLB conversion prospect.

Why the Patriots need him:
We can debate until the end of time whether the Patriots should have picked Clay Matthews. What is relatively clear is that additional help rushing the passer would be a welcomed sight to Patriots fans and defensive backs alike.

Jermaine Cunningham and Eric Moore have shown some promise, but after him you have a group of adequate veterans and a 6th round pick in Markell Carter.

Why you should watch him:
Paige-Moss is a finisher. He is one of those guys that if he gets a sniff at the quarterback, they are going down. In addition, his run support and edge discipline rarely suffers from what we’ve seen.

If he takes another step forward this year, he might move from our Top 50 prospects into the first round of our 2012 NFL Mock Draft.

One Response to “2012 NFL Draft Watchlist: Donte Paige-Moss”

  1. Paige-Moss is good at setting the edge and is a quality run stopper. I think his athleticism is a little overrated, but he strikes me as a Cunningham type. Could be the kind of guy that Belichick likes because of well-rounded game.
