Two small school receivers have been added to the list of those NFL Draft prospects getting a private workout from the New England Patriots.
Cecil Shorts (6-0/205), a receiver at Division 3 Mount Union College, will meet with the Patriots this month according to a source close to the situation. Shorts recently ran a 4.35 at his Pro Day, after racking up some amazing numbers. Shorts scored over 21 touchdowns last year, 17 through the air.
Shorts was a decent performer at the Shrine Game, but his track speed has really bumped him back in the battle for a 4th-5th round pick.
Andre Holmes (6-4/208) of Hillsdale Community College is the otherworkout target for the Patriots. Christopher Price has a great write-up on the big receiver prospect.

Hey guys, great website I love the comprehensive draft coverage that you provide. I was wondering if there was a master list of all players the patriots have worked out so far this year as well as a list of players worked out by the Pats last year. I think it would be really cool to view the two lists and compare the players drafted last years versus players worked out heading into that and this draft respectively. I know Belichick likes to plays games sometimes with his vists (taking out Tim Tibow in Boston) and am wondering about the validity of this years workouts. Thanks! Keep doing what you do.

you can search the NEPD archives for 2010 draft contacts…interesting to see that Gronkowski was not brought in for a workout, nor was Jermaine Cunningham…I too wondered if a correlation might be found between who they workout and actually draft.
