Johnny Patrick Latest Patriots Workout Target

Johnny Patrick Patriots

Louisville CB Johnny Patrick shows off his hands at the Senior Bowl.

According to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, the Patriots held a private workout with former Louisville cornerback Johnny Patrick this morning.

Patrick (5-10/191) impressed with a 4.46 forty-yard dash, after a 4.59 at the NFL combine dinged his stock a little.

A first-team Big East standout his senior season, Patrick recorded five interceptions and twelve passes defensed. He returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown.

The Patriots hit it big in 2010 drafting another Big-East cornerback in the 1st round – DROY runner-up Devin McCourty. Patrick currently projects as more of a mid-round selection, with some off-field concerns (assault) possibly holding him back from a 2nd-round grade.

While the Patriots currently have a host of corners under contract, former draft picks Darius Butler and Jonathan Wilhite have failed to deliver on their promise as of yet.

Keep drafting CB’s — as Belichick said, they are like good pitchers, you can’t have too many.

Pretty good analogy on CB’s i Guess……….Unless their names are Doofis Butler and jerky boy Wilhite who are both …………WORTHLESS.
First thing I do when the trading is let too happen is package them two.
& I wouldn’t much care weither the package went to another NFL team or to Siberia, as long as those two were in it!!
