Patriots vs Steelers: The Aftermath

Tom Brady certainly put some extra mustard on the ball tonight, while playing at Heinz Field of all places.  He finished with over 300 yards and 3 TD passes.

His Patriots demolished the Steelers by a final score of 39-26, moving to 7-2 on the 2010 season.

The Patriots will face the Indianapolis Colts next week, in a seemingly annual renewal of a rivalry that pitted Peyton Manning and Tom Brady against each other for nearly a decade.

Here are our top and bottom Patriots performers for game.

Tom Brady/Rob Gronkowski – Incredible play-fakes and accuracy by Brady led the Patriots four touchdown drives, three to the rookie tight-end, against the vaunted Steelesr defense. Easily the best performance of the year by a guy with a bad foot.

Offensive Line/Ben-Jarvus Green-Ellis – Opened up big holes for the Patriots running game and kept Tom Brady clean nearly the entire night. The Patriots rushed for more yards than anyone this year against Pittsburgh.

The Defense – Things got ugly late in the second half with Pittsburgh down multiple scores, but the defense kept Roethlisberger and the ground game bottled up for the majority of the night. Great performances by Mike Wright, Pat Chung, Jerod Mayo, and others.

Honorable Mentions: Bill Belichick, Alge Crumpler

Illegal Group Demonstration Penalty – Come on, are you serious?

Dishonorable Mention: Shayne Graham (Missed XP???)

Furthermore, ESPN called Pats defense terrible in the fourth quarter. Anyone who watches the prevent defense knows there are going to be a lot of yards, so I call it a joke. The defense played great, and they were doing what they were told. They kept the ball in front of them. Regardless of giving up some pts. As far as I’m concerned Bill B did it that way for a reason.

Never ever have I before said this but Mankins needs to be kept. Not only did he get in a fight like every play but he also stuck up for our players everytime. Not only that he single handedly makes our line about 10 times stronger. I say screw the draft and lets resign this guy.
