NCAA Week 6: NFL Draft Prospect Preview

Michael Floyd

Someone needs to replace Randy Moss for the Patriots next year. Can Notre Dame's Michael Floyd be that guy?

This week, we have four NCAA games that we’ll be scouting – focusing mainly on wide receivers, on account of some guy named Randy Moss leaving town. Defensive ends and 3-4 OLB’s will also get a look this week.

Wide Receivers we’re watching this weekend:

Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame (v Pitt)

Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pitt (v Notre Dame)

Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami (v FSU)

Julio Jones, WR, Alabama (v South Carolina)

Tori Gurley, WR, South Carolina (v Alabama)

Defensive Ends/OLB’s that we’re watching:

Jabaal Sheard, DE, Pitt

Cliff Matthews, DE/OLB, South Carolina

Marcel Dareus, DE, Alabama

Allen Bailey, DE, Miami

Four things we need in the draft.
    1. DE
    2. OLB
    3. RB
    4. OL
I would almost admit we need them in that order. I still have hope for Cunningham and Spikes making an impact on the Defense. Still would like to have quality depth at the OLB position. DE’s with Warren coming back and Wright there we still need some high motor players. RB is obvious, we need someone to balance out the offense. OL help is a must but Bill seems to find them cheap and later in the draft.

Why so much focus on WRs? We still have plenty of guys for Brady to throw to while we lack a real workhorse RB.
