I wish that the patriots were the sixth best team in football, but they’re not. They are missing a stud running back and a stud defensive linemen. The patriots will have a great passing game but the top defensive teams will focus on their passing game since they don’t have to respect their running game. The patriots also have a non existent pass rush. That is going to put too much pressure on a decent linebacker and secondary unit. I look for the patriots to address those problems in the 2011 draft but for this year they will win 8-10 games and if they make the playoffs, they’ll be eliminated early (just like last year). I rank them around 12th or 13th. It also doesn’t help that they already lost a good defensive linemen and their top cornerback for the year not to mention their all pro guard due to contract negotiations. I’m sorry for the gloomy prediction but I’m telling it like it is.

Defense is very green as a whole…..6th spot is perfect. The Pats are going to need to score tons of point in these first few games in order to win. If this defense can hold teams to under 20 points a game they will make the playoffs.

  3. JMC says:

This 2010 Patriots are not the 6th best team in the NFL- I think there has been a talent upgrade, from last year, in many areas – but this teams lacks depth and experience in all three phases of the game, especially in the trenches, to be ranked that high at this time-

They are going to score a lot of points though… that should buy the defense some time to get up to speed.

That picture makes me want to throw up.
