Ty Warren Injury Situation

Ty Warren

Ty Warren needs to heal quickly to bolster the Patriots front seven.

With Nick Kaczur presumably out for a lengthy amount of time, it’s not good to have another starter, defensive end Ty Warren, mentioned in the same breath by Coach Belichick.

“Injury-wise, Ty and Nick Kaczur both have missed a number of practices. Both are being evaluated by our medical staff. We’ll see what comes of that. We’ll just have to wait and see until we get a little more information,” Belichick stated.  “Otherwise, everyone is day-to-day. We got some guys back last week, hopefully we’ll get some more guys back this week to get us closer to full-strength.”

Warren has missed three games in each of the last two NFL seasons.  Warren amassed 46 tackles and 1 sack during the 2009 campaign.

If Warren’s injury proves to be serious, the Patriots do have a bevy of players ready to compete for his starting position.  Veteran Gerard Warren has seen plenty of action in training camp, and will see significant playing time at either the LDE or RDE spot come the regular season.  Myron Pryor, Mike Wright, Damione Lewis, and a host of rookies will also factor into the equation.

Warren is not expected to suit up for the Patriots first preseason game against the New Orleans Saints this Thursday.

Ty Warren is a great WS run stopper. Even though he doen’t get to QB often he still bats down a lot of passes .

With no Richard Seymour, Warren is the only rock they have at DE in the 3-4. In my opinion, hes NEVER lived up to expectations, but with no Seymour, his absence will be more noticable than even the Mankins one. Shut him down until hes 100%… even if it takes half the season….if your going to make a SB run THIS year, Ty Warren will have to be in the picture late in the season.

Warren hasn’t been as good as he was during the 05-06 seasons, but he is still a decent DE. He needs to get healthy quick.
